We have a few meetings every term as leaders, volunteers, and parent helpers to help coordinate the running of the various sections and make sure any help that’s needed is made available.
AGM
The big one is the AGM (Annual General Meeting). A review of the previous 12 or so months where we try and get everyone to attend – including parents and youths!
It’s also a time where we can give extra congratulations to Scouters who have attained their section’s highest awards or other extraordinary achievements.
Section Leaders Meeting
Every term we hold a Section Leaders Meeting, where leaders from all of the sections, Squirrels to Scouts (and our attached Explorer Unit), can go over programme issues, confirm who is moving between sections, try and set up some multi-section activities or camps, and generally have a chat.
These are open to helpers and parents as well – anyone who wants to give their input or volunteer in some manner.
Board of Trustees
All of our activities are only possible thanks to the effort our Board of Trustees put in to making sure we have a building to use, bills paid, equipment ready for activities and camps, and generally have people leaders can call on if there are administrative issues.
The Board also meets once a term to make sure our Group can run as seamlessly as possible, and again is open to helpers and parents who want to give input or help.
