Cubs Spring Term 2022

Date: 11th Apr 2022 Author: Nick Coe

From muddy Squidge Hikes, to a Buddhist Temple Visit…  Pioneering a bucket winch and an Allotment bean trellis…

From Tomahawk Throwing to Fire Lighting…  Bike Riding, Cardboard box Camping…

and even getting eaten by a Chinese New Year Lion…

The Cubs Spring Term 2022 was jam packed with adventures to remember!

Mosquito and Trident Cub Packs have been out and about, braving the elements and testing their skills.

This term they have been at Elvetham Heath, Fleet Pond, around Hartley Wintney, in Aldershot and in Guildford.

The 2 Cub packs also joined up for two special Events in March – firstly an overnight Homeless Sleepover in support of local Charity StepByStep.

Matthew and Sarah from the Charity visited us, shared a campfire baked potato, and helped to explain how they help young homeless people to get the support and shelter they need.

The Cubs slept overnight in our HQ on cardboard boxes, and took part in activities to help them better understand this complex issue and how they can help.

Together they raised nearly £200 for the charity.

Homeless Sleepover – the Cubs cooked a simple meal over a campfire and then slept overnight at the HQ, using cardboard boxes for insulation, afterwards feeling very fortunate they had a warm home to go to.

The second special Event was an awesome Outdoor Adventure Day at Wild Wood, in Guildford.

Here the Cubs scaled the tree tops, scrambled through an aerial obstacle course and slid down zip wires.

As the clocks change, the evenings get lighter, and we enjoy the Easter holidays and chocolate, our Cubs will be resting up, getting Prepared for more Adventure and (hopefully) sunshine, in the Cubs 2022 Summer Term!

Spoiler Alert for the Summer Term!
