World Scout Jamboree and Hampshire’s European Road Trip

Date: 22nd Aug 2023 Author: Rick Hooper

This summer some of our older Scouts had the amazing opportunity to go on one of two international Scouting trips – the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea or a three week expedition organised by Hampshire Scouts stopping in Austria, Czechia, and Germany!

While those who were on the WSJ got a different experience than anyone was expecting, it was still an amazing once-in-a-lifetime event that they will always remember, and everyone came back with amazing stories to tell.

Hampshire’s European Road Trip stopped at amazing campsites, visited cities (Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague), and finished in a castle in Germany that’s owned by one of their Scout Associations!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
